How NEET 2026 Exam Centre Allocation Works
Select City Preferences During Registration
While filling the NEET 2026 application form, candidates are required to select up to 4 city preferences for their exam centre. The cities listed are based on the state/UT of residence or the state where the candidate is studying.
NTA Allocates Centre Based on Availability
NTA allocates the exam centre based on the candidate's city preferences and the availability of seats at exam centres in those cities. The first preference is given priority, but if seats are unavailable, subsequent preferences are considered.
City Intimation Slip Released
Before releasing the admit card, NTA issues a City Intimation Slip informing candidates about the city where their exam centre is located. This is expected to be released in April 2026.
Admit Card with Exact Centre Details
The admit card contains the complete address of the exam centre, including the name of the school/college, building, and room number. Candidates are advised to visit the centre a day before the exam to familiarize themselves with the location.
