Important: The admit card is a mandatory document for appearing in NEET 2026. Without a valid printed admit card, you will NOT be allowed to enter the exam centre. Download and print it as soon as it is released.

How to Download NEET 2026 Admit Card

Visit Official Website

Go to neet.nta.nic.in — the official NTA NEET portal. Do not use any third-party website to download your admit card.

Click on 'Download Admit Card'

Look for the 'NEET UG 2026 Admit Card' link on the homepage. It will be prominently displayed once released.

Enter Login Credentials

Enter your Application Number (from registration) and Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY format). Enter the security captcha code.

View & Verify Details

Carefully verify all details on the admit card — name, photo, signature, roll number, exam centre, and date. Report any discrepancies immediately.

Download & Print

Download the admit card as PDF. Print at least 2 color copies on A4 size paper. Keep one copy safely at home as backup.

Warning: Do NOT download your admit card from any website other than neet.nta.nic.in. Fake websites may steal your personal information or provide incorrect admit cards. Always verify the URL before entering credentials.

Complete Exam Day Timeline — May 3, 2026

Reporting Time — Arrive at exam centre

Reach the exam centre by 11:00 AM. Locate your room/seat number from the notice board displayed at the centre.

11:00 AM - 1:15 PM

Document Verification & Frisking

Your admit card and ID proof will be checked. Biometric verification (fingerprint/iris scan) may be done. Personal belongings inspection and frisking by security.

1:15 PM

Entry into Examination Hall

Candidates are allowed to enter the exam hall. Find your allotted seat. Read the instructions on the question paper cover page.

1:30 PM

Gate Closure — NO ENTRY AFTER THIS

The gates of the exam centre will be closed. No candidate will be allowed to enter after 1:30 PM under any circumstances. Late arrivals will not be permitted.

1:30 PM - 2:00 PM

Pre-exam Formalities

Distribution of OMR sheets and question booklets (sealed). Filling of personal details on OMR sheet under supervision. Reading of instructions by invigilator.

2:00 PM

Exam Starts

Open the sealed question booklet only after the announcement. Start attempting questions. Use blue/black ballpoint pen only.

2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Examination Duration (3 Hours)

180 questions to be attempted in 180 minutes. No breaks allowed during the exam. Fill OMR sheet carefully — no correction possible once marked.

Exam Ends

Stop writing immediately when announced. Stay seated until the invigilator collects your OMR sheet and question booklet. You may take the question paper after the invigilator confirms.

Critical: Gate closes at 1:30 PM sharp. No exceptions will be made for late arrivals, regardless of the reason (traffic, vehicle breakdown, etc.). Plan to reach the centre by 10:30 AM to avoid any last-minute issues.

NEET 2026 Dress Code

Allowed

  • Light-colored half-sleeve shirts/t-shirts/tops
  • Comfortable trousers / salwar / pants (no cargo pants with multiple pockets)
  • Slippers, sandals, or low-heeled shoes without thick soles
  • Simple analog watch (some centres may ask to remove — check admit card instructions)
  • Light kurta (half-sleeve preferred)
  • Simple hair bands / clips (no metallic ones)

Not Allowed

  • Full-sleeve shirts / tops / jackets / sweaters / hoodies
  • Shoes, boots, or footwear with thick soles
  • Caps, hats, scarves, mufflers, or sunglasses
  • Clothes with large buttons, brooches, or metallic embellishments
  • Belts with metallic buckles
  • Any clothing with pockets (some centres are strict about this)
  • Dark / opaque clothes where hidden items cannot be detected

Pro Tip: Wear light, comfortable clothes. Exam centres can be hot in May — wear breathable cotton. Avoid anything that triggers the metal detector to speed up your entry process.

Items NOT Allowed Inside Exam Centre

Mobile Phone

Strictly banned. If found, candidature will be cancelled. Leave it at home or in car.

Smart Watch / Digital Watch

No digital or smart watches. Only simple analog watches may be allowed (check admit card).

Calculator

No calculators of any kind. All calculations must be done mentally or on rough paper.

Wallet / Purse

Not allowed inside the exam hall. Keep minimal cash outside if needed.

Pen / Pencil / Stationery

Do NOT bring your own pen. A blue/black ballpoint pen will be provided at the centre.

Earphones / Bluetooth Devices

Any electronic or communication device is strictly prohibited.

Books / Notes / Study Material

No printed or written material allowed inside the exam centre.

Bag / Handbag

Do not bring bags. NTA will not be responsible for loss of belongings.

Food Items / Snacks

Not allowed inside exam hall. Only transparent water bottle (no label) is permitted.

Jewelry / Metallic Items

Avoid rings, bracelets, chains, earrings to prevent issues during frisking.

Strict Warning: If a mobile phone or any electronic device is found on you during the exam (even if switched off), your candidature will be immediately cancelled and you may be debarred from future exams. NTA will NOT arrange for safe-keeping of your belongings. Do NOT bring these items to the exam centre.

What If Your Admit Card Has Errors?

If you notice any discrepancy on your admit card, act immediately. Do NOT wait until exam day to report errors. Here are common issues and their solutions:

Name is misspelled or incorrect

Contact NTA helpline immediately at 011-40759000 or email neet@nta.ac.in. Also apply through correction window if available. The admit card name should match your Class 10 certificate.

Photograph is wrong or blurred

Contact NTA immediately. You may need to carry additional passport-size photographs and valid Photo ID for verification at the exam centre.

Date of Birth is incorrect

Report to NTA helpline. Carry your Class 10 certificate (which has correct DOB) as supporting proof on exam day.

Exam centre is too far or in a different city

NTA generally does not change exam centres after allotment. However, you can request consideration through the helpline in genuine hardship cases.

Category is wrong (e.g., OBC shown as General)

Contact NTA immediately. This can affect your rank and counselling eligibility. Carry original category certificate on exam day.

Gender is incorrect

Report to NTA helpline and carry a valid ID proof showing correct gender on exam day.

Cannot download admit card / login not working

Clear browser cache and try again. Use a different browser or device. If still failing, contact NTA helpline or visit the nearest NTA facilitation centre.
